Clifton Highlands Golf Course
About
Clifton Highlands Golf Club, just north of Prescott, enjoys a scenic location overlooking the St. Croix River Valley. The club offers a championship 18-hole course as well as a par-3 course. Dr. Gordon Emerson, Wisconsin's most prolific course designer, designed the Championship Course. He considered it some of his best work. The golf course has enough diversity to appeal to both low and high handicappers. The layout is fairly tight with mature trees framing many of the holes. The undulating greens and fairways are meticulously maintained. A combination of water and sand comes into play, providing a fair amount of challenges without being too punishing. In addition to the 27 holes, Clifton Highlands G.C. also has a driving range and practice greens that are adjacent to the first tees of both golf courses.

great deal on a perfect day
We got a last minute tee time on Golf Now at Clifton Highlands. It was sunny and a little breeze and we got on the course at just the right time...no one ahead of us or behind us and it took just 3 hours to play 18. The greens had been aerated a few days earlier so they were a bit bumpy but the fairways and tee boxes were in great shape. A nice variety of holes with only a few blind shots...a fun course to play
Hidden Gem
Paid about $28 per person on a hot deal after fees/taxes. This course was in very good shape, greens are very undulating. The course has some great deals on Mon/Wed/Thur .
Great Course
I was pleasantly surprised at what a fun course this is. Just enough of a challenge that if you are off line you will find some interesting but fair shots. Come prepared for challenging but fair putting. I will come back!
Very Nice Course
The course was in excellent shape. The greens roll very true and are undulated and fast. Several tee positions can make the course easier or very challenging. The fairways are also in great shape, you just need to land of them more. The staff was very friendly to us, even though we had read a very negative review on GolfNow posted by other GolfNow players.
Great Day at Clifton Highlands
I live in Florida and was in Minnesota for the summer. I played Clifton Highlands 3 different times during summer. I loved the course. Great people, excellent value, and there was a reason I played it 3 times. I liked it!!!
Good shape
Course is in pretty good shape. Few goofy holes. But it's worth a shot. Not very long. Suggested to play blues
Enjoyed the round
The course was in great shape and pace of play very good. We booked through GolfNow and played with a very nice couple.
Worth the trip!
Course is well maintained and pace of play was 4 hours for the round. Will go back!
Beautiful Golfing Day
This course is somewhat challenging, have to hit the right shot on several holes or the trees are in the way. Nice elevated greens, the greens were fast. Good undulations to the greens so they can be challenging. This is a very good course for the money.
Slow play kills a good course
After the first three holes we waited 5 minutes for every shot. At one point there were four groups backed up on a par 3. It would have helped to have a ranger move the pace along. At the break my wife ordered a pop, none was available in the area, the older gentlemen did not know how to ring up the sale. Well over 10 minutes to buy a pop. A good course wrecked by slow play and sloppy managment.
