Glen Erin Golf Club
About
Glen Erin Golf Club is an homage to the strong Irish heritage of Janesville, Glen Erin, which literally mean "Ireland's Valley," sprawls across lush, emerald green hills that are accentuated with a prominent vale that runs throughout the course. The course has a distinctly Irish character with wide, undulating fairways and immense greens that are flanked with pot bunkers. Sandy waste areas and ribbons of native fescue serve as the outer rough. The elevation changes on the golf course range from subtle to dramatic. Golfers should be prepared for a fair amount of uneven lies as well as some forced carries. Glen Erin Golf Club finishes memorably with a long par 5 that offers a risk-reward opportunity. The double-tiered green is well guarded but with good placement and a little bit of luck, a birdie is definitely possible.

Liked this course
Links style course. Friendly staff. We played Monday afternoon so the course was not that busy. 3.5 hour round with two of us. Greens had lots of undulations but rolled true. I would play this course again any time.
Greens are not what I am used to
I am a below average putter and found these greens to be more fun house than golf course. I enjoyed the entire round and like the fairly wide open course with a different challenge around each green. The course was easy to follow and laid out quite well.
I would return
The green were fast and tricky, fairways perfect. Rough was very challenging. The short pins are deceptive.
I will return, I really enjoyed this track
Very Nice golf course!
Great layout, great condition, and a member of our foursome aced the second hole!
Southern Wisconsin Gem
Given the lack of rain in Southern Wisconsin this summer the staff at Glen Erin have done a wonderful job! If your ever in the Janesville/Beloit area this course is a MUST play. Don't forgot to hit the clubhouse after your round. Great food with an Irish touch. The Friday Fish Fry is a MUST!
Glen Erin
Excellent course & very fun to play one of the better courses in the area
Great course
We just had a blast. We were being pushed hard by the ranger to keep pace, but we were done in about 4 hours and 10 minutes. At the turn, we had a sandwich, and let 2 groups go ahead of us. That would be my only negative, since we were trying to take some clients out for a relaxing time. We enjoyed a fish fry which was excellent, by the way.
Amazing challenge!
Course was an amazing challenge. You have to play several different shots during the round. The drinks are stiff and so is the competition. If you like to test your skills you'll love this course, especially if the wind is blowing like it was for us!
Worth The Trip
We traveled from Madison to play the course. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. We are senior golfers and for us the course was challenging but fair. The greens were true and fast. The pace of play was good and we finished in just over four hours.
Amazing!
Great course for the price! The fairways and greens were very nicely maintained. Some wide and tight fairways with challenging greens and deep bunkers. Short flags adds a nice touch.
Excellent golf course
Glen Erin is one of the top courses in northern Illinois/ southern Wisconsin area. Excellent shape and very friendly staff.
Amazing
The course was Amazing from start to finish! Always challenging always fun
Different and very nice to play
This course is an excellent course to play. Some fairways are wide and some tight. Try this course for something different. You will like it. The shorter flag poles are also a nice touch.
Have made great changes
Played many times over the years They have made great changes I
I give credit to the staff
Great course
Conditions of the course was great. The greens were like glass.overall great time.
Hidden gem
The course is breathtakingly beautiful! We went on a Thursday morning and were not rushed as the pacing was spread out enough that you could really focus on your shots. Greens are well maintained and tough to play. Sand traps were so deep you couldn't see where you were going - very challenging. Forward tees were forward enough to be competitive with the whites. Great place to spend the day!
Toughest course in town
Very challenging course especially when the wind is howling like it was on Fathers Day. Course was overall in great shape. Greens looked like they still have not grown back in well from whatever they do to them in the spring. Great layout, longer par 3s, lots of break when putting on the greens.
Straight is more important
Course was set up well. Very tempting to hit the ball far, but straight is far more important. Greens hold the ball very well. Fairways roll out and trees are always in my way.
