About
Old Hickory Country Club in Beaver Dam is situated on land that was used simply as pasture for grazing cattle and sheep before it was transformed into a basic, but interesting nine-hole golf course by Scottish designer Tom Bendelow. Seeing the potential of the terrain, the course was later expanded into 18 holes by Robert Greaves. The golf course originally opened for play in 1920, which has given it plenty of time to mature into the challenging course it is today. Towering oak and hickory trees line the fairways and there are 30 bunkers strategically placed throughout the golf course, most heavily along the greensides. The gently rolling terrain provides subtle but tricky contours. Long, straight drives will be generously rewarded at Old Hickory Country Club, and accuracy is also essential for doing well.

Great Wather, Great Golf
Haven't played here in years, but every bit as nice as I remembered it.
Perfect greens!
The greens were very fast and well maintained. Golf course was very nice overall. Elevated tee's and greens made this course very challenging. Hard but fair, need to hit the ball straight.
The course provides multiple golfing "opportunities".
Rating reflects good only due to experiences based on other golf courses played within US. The rolling terrain and multiple wooded fairways not only provide challenges, but offer the opportunity to enjoy what this golf course offers within its' natural landscape.
Very challenging fun course
Lots of memorable shots on this great old course. Try to play a few times a year, always in nice shape.
Terrific vintage design course
We had a special needs situation. The fellow who checked us in handled this with great tact and made us feel very comfortable. Superb customer care.

Great Course
Old Hickory was a great course. We played the blue tees and there was some very tight fairways. We paid $18 a guy for 18 holes and a cart. Can't beat the price.
The greens are super.
The course was in great shape overall.The greens are fast and in really great shape.
Great Mature Course
If your looking for a good challenge this course is for you.. The rough is thick and just long enough,, And the trees are everywhere. :o) ..The course is in good shape.. They have a good pro shop and bar/restaurant .. Will definitely golf it again...
golfers need to fix divots on greens!!
Really enjoyed the round, course in good shape. Etiquet on greens (repair divots) goes along way.

Very Nice course great greens
Nice course with some interesting holes here and there in some rolling hills. The greens are just in wonderful condition. They are receptive but yet fast. Decent food.
This course has great features and is used for statewide tournaments, and should be.
The 1st time ever playing this course and what a great experience we had. The course is well maintained and the greens are fast. It has challenging holes and great topography.
It will be a nice course to play this fall when the leaves are turning.
This is a great course and would play it again.
We were a four some of old high school classmates and we were very impressed with course and how it played. If you were not careful, you could find yourself in trouble. The four of us are a bunch of seventy year olds and had a great time playing this course and said we would go there again.

Autumn Ridge
Great course and in great shape What I liked about it was that you can play 4 different distances 5 if you count the red tees.
Course is set up for any golf ability! Low to high handicaps.
Only negative was the food. Over done hotdogs on cold buns.
Classic midwest country club.
A great, midwestern style country club course--lots of trees and lush fairways. Rough not too punitive. Only issue with condition of the course were the bunkers that were too hard. A few blind tee shots, but nothing that seemed gimmicky. Enjoyed the course.
A VERY CHALLENGING GOLF COURSE
OLD HICKORY IS A VERY CHALLENING COURSE THAT HAS EXTREMELY FAST GREENS AND A ROUGH THAT DEFINATELY MAKES YOU PAY FOR NOT HITTING THE FAIRWAYS ! OH DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE TREE LINES THAT LINE THE ROUGHS !!
Unfortunately Mother Nature made course extremely soggy but very picturesque course.
Mother Nature again made this spring weather and course very wet, but picturesque and would come again
