About
Old Hickory Country Club in Beaver Dam is situated on land that was used simply as pasture for grazing cattle and sheep before it was transformed into a basic, but interesting nine-hole golf course by Scottish designer Tom Bendelow. Seeing the potential of the terrain, the course was later expanded into 18 holes by Robert Greaves. The golf course originally opened for play in 1920, which has given it plenty of time to mature into the challenging course it is today. Towering oak and hickory trees line the fairways and there are 30 bunkers strategically placed throughout the golf course, most heavily along the greensides. The gently rolling terrain provides subtle but tricky contours. Long, straight drives will be generously rewarded at Old Hickory Country Club, and accuracy is also essential for doing well.

Very nice
Course was in excellent condition. Great layout, lots of elevation changes. Lots of blind holes. Drinking water on
course was much appreciated. Electric carts with GPS were nice. The rough was just the right height to loose your ball. STAY IN FAIRWAY. Hope to be back soon.
Wow - great course
One of the nicest courses in the area. Layout is great . Wide fairways. The greens are fabulous they run true and in great shape. The grounds grew does a great job maintaining the course. If you live near Madison or Milwaukee the drive is worth it. I'll definitely be back!
Great Place to Play
It was a cold day but the course was in excellent condition. They did a really nice job with keeping it green and getting the leaves off the course. The only downfall is they moved all the tee boxes way up so the course played a lot shorter.
Won’t be disappointed
Keep it in fairway , roughs make it a long round looking for balls not that it’s a bad thing if your not that good of player look for a easier course this course is a test of your abilities
Old Hickory Golf
This course is very well maintained. The experience was awesome I loved the course views and difficulty.
Absolutely beautiful course
Rolling green fairways, mature trees, charming views. No houses on course. Holes play long for me. Several elevated greens, occasional water.. challenging and lots of fun. Bar menu was very limited. Staff friendly.

Just passing though the area and chose Old Hickory almost by chance....happy with the choice.
Very nice course - the tees, fairways and especially the greens were in great condition.
It's open to the public, but definitely has the Country Club feel about it. Great value for money.
Course conditions
The course was in great shape, and well taken care of. The staff was very friendly. The green were good speed, with few to no divots. The topography is rolling and challenging. Will definitely come back!
