Gary Player at Geneva National Golf Club
About
Geneva National Golf Club boasts three championship courses, each with a notable designer: Gary Player, Arnold Palmer, and Lee Trevino. All three courses sit along the shores of Lake Como and were carved from lush, rolling countryside. The Gary Player Course, along with the Palmer Course, provides the greatest challenges and also some of the best scenery. Water hazards come into play on 12 holes in the form of wandering streams and large lakes. One of the most memorable holes with water is the par-3 16th. There is a lake that wraps almost entirely around the green, giving it the feel and difficulty of an island green. In addition to the water, golfers will also have numerous strategically placed bunkers to contend with. The club is popular with locals but also with visitors since it is only a short drive from metropolitan Chicago and Milwaukee.

Amazing, picturesque track! Best course in the area
Beautiful, challenging championship course
Love this course! Great condition with some really interesting holes. Highly recommend,
Mixed bag - gorgeous but SLOW
I have mixed feelings about this course. I really wanted to love it. The Player course has some super cool tee shots, a really interesting layout for a resort-style course and is clearly well-maintained. However, it was one of the longest rounds I’ve ever played. I clocked our round at 5 hours and 29 minutes. There’s just no way to really enjoy a round that slow. There’s no rhythm, and at one point had a backup of 3 groups all on the same tee box at the par 3 13th. I expect that out of a cheap muni, but not when spending this kind of premium for the round. They really need to space out tee times to every 12-15 mins.
All that being said, if you’re ok with a 5.5 hour round, this is a really great round for a resort-style course. Wide fairways, cool views and most shots bounce in your favor. Good shots are rewarded and the greens roll very true.
Fabulous course!
Played on opening day. Course was in great shape. Greens were smooth and fast (for March in WI). Course was also surprisingly dry for this time of season. Great layout with a nice variety of tee choices. Pay attention to where Lake Cuomo is...everything breaks that way on the greens. Humongous putting course opening this summer.
Great course
Beautiful conditions and some amazing holes allowing for some fun shots.

2nd visit to this course. Did not disappoint even with late season conditions. Greens were a little fury but still rolled well. One of my favorite courses to splurge on and at $75 a bargain. Each hole is unique and really no throw away holes. Great track!
