Fire Ridge Golf Club
About
Fire Ridge Golf Club in Grafton, Wisconsin is a public course but it boasts the amenities and service of a private country club. It is not as well known as some other courses in the area and might possibly one of the state's best-kept secrets. The golf course stretches to more than 7,000 yards from the tips and was ranked as one of Wisconsin's top 20 toughest courses. Mature trees shape the numerous doglegs and there are also water hazards that come into play throughout Fire Ridge. There is an interesting mix of holes including challenging par 4s, with the most difficult being the 16th. There are no surprises on this tricky hole because it's tough enough on its own. Golfers should aim to keep it in the fairway and place the second shot below the hole, making sure not to miss the green long or else they're be facing a fast downhill chip shot.

Great course
The course was in excellent condition for this time of the year. The greens were face and consistent. I'll be coming back soon.
Great Course
Very nice course and clubhouse..Many elevations that make for fun golf. Very short (300 yard) 18th hole which is very challenging.
Wish course was closer
We drove over 1 hour to play this course, and we were not disapointed. What a beautiful course. The man in the pro shop was very nice as were the other staff members. Lots of rollings hills. The fairways and greens were in great condition. The greens were quite undulating with tricky pin placement.
Hole #1 is a slight dogleg left with a downhill second shot.
Hole #10 is a par 5 with hidden water just before the green. Big hitters beware. Loved #18, dogleg right with second shot over hazzard to elevated green. Great finnishing hole. Plan on going back
dispite distance.
Course Great Pace and Greens Terrible
The pace of play was ridiculously slow and no marshall on a Saturday to keep things moving. Greens were in really bad shape. Course layout and conditon overall was great.
Second 18 of the Day
The Hype of this course being 5 stars made me book this course. And the excellent fee I got from the site I get great values. The course is in pristine condition and the greens very well taken care of. But the layout is average at best. Its very flat except for a couple holes. Lots of leaves gathering. Lost balls because of that problem. I played from the blacks and found it rather easy. Its a long course from tips. The whites here R To easy. Good for average weekend player.
Excellent course and great for all skill levels
Always a friendly staff and a fun course with a good pace of play.
B&L
I started my day off with a free day ,
In complimentary of GOLF NOW .
Love this site!
I wanted to play Fire Ridge and a few other courses before the season ended.
Golf Now offered a deal I couldn't refuse.
Now granted a 30-35 min drive time wasn't bad but was worried about catching rush hour on the way home . So my first time to Fire Ridge you pull up to a gorgeous course. First thought , nice place for a outting! Pro shop was nicely organized , couches , tv , coffee so fourth . Very welcoming environment . Staff - where all smiles and very friendly . The greens where fast and perfect . Fairways , ruff awesome. The views where fantastic. Plenty of colored tees for all handicaps. I was more than impressed.
And to top it off I was paired up with a couple . Now not ur average couple here. First the gentleman Mr B topped a nice group off shots while his gorgeous wife Mrs L. shot straight as an arrow .
Might I add birdies the first hole or 10th , (( where we started)). Well as we find our selfs chatting away and enjoying our day .
Perfect weather if I didn't mention by the way. We found our game improve . Nothing but smiles an memories . After a few topped balls Mr B whooped my butt by the end. All in all what a time and a couple . I shot my first ever 99 breaking a 100.
Awesome day !!!
Golf now and some of the course and people u meet are fantastic and worth it .
Great course- Horrible condition
I have played this course many times and find it one of the nicer courses in the area. However, the condition of the greens on the front nine border on unplayable.
Aeration had been done on the greens and it appeared to have been done by a bulldozer dragging a thatching rake behind it. I'm not sure if it was done by a disgruntled employee or someone with no experience whatsoever. The back nine had been done recently and was in good condition other than spike marks and unrepaired ball marks. VERY DISAPPOINTED!
a gem in grafton
Forgot how much I enjoyed this course, haven't played it for a number of years. Nice practice facility. Fairway condition perfect. Greens tough to putt because of undulation and tiers. Penalties for bad shots but landing areas are fair.
challenging layout
course in great condition. greens fast with
intersing breaks. back nine caught up with golf outing pace extremely slow should have been warned by staff.
Unique challenging holes
Even after it poured for 4 hours straight, I hardly saw any standing water around the course. The greens were challenging and tee shots had to be pretty precise to be ok. This course was one of my favorites.
Great course conditions
I have played Fire Ridge before, but the course was in the best condition I have seen this time. There were very few ball marks in the greens. The greens rolled very true and very fast. Fire Ridge provides a challenging, yet fair layout. The pro shop worker gave me the option of playing at my scheduled time or going earlier. I went earlier as it allowed me to play a faster round. Fun Course!
the staff at this course were second to none!
We arrived at the course 2 hours before our tee time and were immediately greeted with "we can put you out early if you would like, you just let us know". Needless to say, we were teed up right our warm up at the driving range which was also quite nice. While we are on the subject of the staff and their customer service focus, when we finished hole 10 the course marshall approached us to let us know the group in front of us was moving a bit slow and he would hold them up so we could play through which we did. Not often will a marshall coordinate like this and be as pleasant is this one was. The course was in excellent shape, challenging but fair, and the greens were quite true in their read and speed. I would highly recommend playing this course, especially with Golf Now deals like we had.
Marshall's that actually move the pace along
I have played the course before and it was in good shape. I ended up as a single, and with the Marshall's help played through 2 foursomes by the third hole and then had an open course until I caught up with a twosome on the back 9. The Marshall stopped by every few holes to check in and say hi. Most courses seemingly don't care about pace of play but this one does. I will be back.
Great value
I had avoided this course due to price, but golf now had an amazing deal and I took advantage. I'd definitely return to this course.
Fireridger
The course was in good shape. Had a very fun time. Would go back any time.
Danny
Actually played in 3 hours as a 2some. Others let us play through so our day was great. Course is in great shape and the huge greens were tough.
Fabulous value
Great course - although would benefit greatly form laser or cart GPS - as many shot are blind -
Better signage off tees to turns would lessen lost balls! Staff should enforce - collared shirts vs. tee shirts -
Great Golf Course
This golf course is a hidden gem. It is right off the highway is it is easily accessible. It is very pleasing to the eye and has several tee options for long ball hitters and average golfers like me. This is the best kept secret in the Milwaukee area.
Fire Ridge Golf Club
Excellent Course! I recommend this course for intermediate to experienced golfers.
