Fun course, great staff
Love this place. Had a group of regulars who played fast behind us, otherwise it was fantastic.
Way Over Priced
This course is way overpriced. Decent course but not worth $50 a round.
Course Review
Small greens that roll well.
Tee boxes are in terrible shape.
Hard to follow holes. basically fortunate to have played with members.
Some unique holes. Relatively a short course.
New thoughts
I have been a huge advocate of this course all summer but, the last two times it has been SO overbooked, as a single I jumped around to avoid congestion. This last time it was so crowded I quit after nine hole. It took 2.5 to play the back nine and I was looking at. 30 minute wait for the front. I get you need customers to pay the bills but packing that many players on a course ( slow players to boot) is not enjoyable. I was going to join but have seriously reconsidered
Great course
This has become my go to course, consistent in conditions and just challenging enough to keep you honest. The staff is awesome and be forewarned it is a busy place.
Good course
They were very busy today and the check in software froze. Many slow playing foursomes had the course backed up plus a wedding had the course shut down for afternoon play. Only time this issue has occurred and I think they were not prepared
Excellent Layout - Need UTV to Drive on it
loved the layout, pace, and fewer par 3s (personal preference). Everything was what you'd expect from a golf course with the exception of the terrain. We weren't sure why there were bungie cords on the carts on top of the bag straps until we took off on the first hole. Need some off road carts!
Nice Course
This was my third time playing this course in a month and I continue to come back as I like the challenging holes at 8 and 15 and will consider a membership for the right price.
Always good
This course always delivers, even after the rains there was very little standing water. Staff is fantastic and the course is challenging. I would consider a membership here.
Great
Even with the rain the course was very playable and the staff was awesome as always
Very nice
Ok I know I say this a lot but this course is also in great condition. Fairways soft and the greens are firm plus the staff is fantastic
Weird Layout, tiny greens. 3 star course
Positives: Good value, decent course conditions, somewhat challenging
Negatives: very strange layout, almost all Par 5’s and Par 3’s. Tons of bumps and mounds in the fairways and all over the course,...very uncomfortable cart ride. Super small greens
If the greens were a bit bigger and the fairways weren’t so bumpy, I would consider playing this course again. But that combined with the very strange course layout made this course a bit below average for me
This course has great features
Played this course twice and will definitely be back as the layout is easy to follow and very little water hazards and a couple of challenging holes but great for my level of play.
Awesome as always
Second time playing and even after the rains it was very playable
Nice course with challenges.
This course has a ton of group outings, so you need to call ahead. Did just that and got on before a group. Actually a good idea because we kept pace easily.
The course is well maintained and presents numerous elevation changes. Wide fairways are fair and looked great. I will agree the greens are very small, so you’re going to be chipping a lot if you’re not top 10% in accuracy.
I think $45 for a round is excessive. This isn’t PGA West. They also have no lower pricing for kids, which was odd. But maybe they just want those group outings and whoever else they can get on the course is a bonus. With pricing like that, I can see why.
Old Parkland with incredibly small greens
This is by far the most difficult 121 slope 6100 yd course I've ever experienced. Built in 1912 the folks are friendly and the overall layout is interesting but the greens are so small it's a complete crap shoot to get on in regulation. The greens don't hold and you have bounce in your shot and hope. Has a range and Wisconsin bar/older clubhouse. Food I'm told is average.
Played the white tees and it just wasn't a very fun round - next time we'll try the short tees in hopes we might have a few more putts for birdie. The course simply taxes you throughout as minor errors in line or distance are severely penal. 5th hole is a 223 yard slightly uphill postage stamp par 3 with trap in front of most of it. The 6th thru 8th holes are incredibly tight with huge tree encroachment issues. The severely uphill Par 3 ninth to another postage stamp almost impossible to prox 156 yds playing around 180. The 12th is a similar significantly uphill Par 3 of 170 playing around 195. 17th another 200 yard plus 3 on this Par 71 - 6 3's and 5 5's with two of those over 540. Many of the approach shots are uphill to a punched up green so small anything on the putting surface you have a decent chance of making or perhaps getting an up and down. Short chips shots have to be perfectly struck if you short side or are downhill to stay on the surface. A par on almost any hole seems like a feat to be savored. Course itself is in very decent shape greens roll fairly true - several with significant slope with old school nuances. If they blew up all the greens and doubled their size it would a fairer test.....completely way too exacting. Difficult to drive your cart even in some fairways with many humps and bumps.
Apologies Twin Lakes but It just gets old trying to get up and down for par almost every hole. A very pretty nice long uphill 380 playing 400 plus par four finisher....again to a green up on hillock far too small. My playing partner was amazed at how costly their beverages were.....almost $25 for a non import six pack pre tip? Seems a tad over the top - course was virtually empty on a perfect mid afternoon so that's probably how they make up for it....and was very empty the next day when we drove by at 11am.
I'll allow 3 stars and I will definitely return now that I know what I'm getting into - Twin Lakes is a most interesting old schooler - very different very exacting test than what you're normally used to.
Average player's course
Small greens that don't stick shots very well does not help this course, but with fun holes, a good environment, and a good wedding hall, I recommend looking into it, especially is you are an average golfer looking for a fun round.
