Golfin with Friends
I believe this was my first time Golfing at this coarse and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The weather was great. The pace of play was not an issue. And the greens and fairways were excellent. I will be back!!!
Small town feel. Big time course.
Definitely a hidden gem. Had some wind damage from a storm the night before. Definitely not their fault and did not detract from the beauty and quality of this course.
I will definitely be back.
Hidden Gem
Love this course. I play it 4-5 times a year. It is truly hidden and that is the only con to playing this course. It is always in great shape and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Note that there are no sand traps on this course, doesn’t need them. The layout is cut right out of the pines, but grounds maintenance does a great job keeping the rough cut down and open. If you like to explore new courses, you have to play this one.
Great Course
Hidden greens is a beautiful course! If you can’t drive the fairway then you’re going to have a long day. There are lots of large trees spread out all over the course. Hope you’re good at punch shots! Amazing greens. Fantastic rates for the quality of course.
Great course
The course was in excellent condition and provided a fun round.
Awesome
The course was in excellent condition. The staff were extremely nice. The only problem was the pace of play but it was a holiday. Very fun course.
Fair and well groomed course
Hidden Greens has elevated its' quality of play dramatically over the past 5 years. It is fun and challenging with excellently maintained greens. The only drawback involved a high rough making it hard to locate errant shots just off the fairway and slowing pace of play because of this. Overall, the course was fun and I am certainly looking forward to play it again.
Check out Hidden Greens North!
This golf course came thru our long and crappy winter in great shape!
Fertilizer applied to greens last week.
With the rain they should be in premium condition.
Challenging narrow fairways.
Hidden gem
Located Out in area where you wonder what type of course you are going to play, but this course was beautiful. Carpet greens were great to putt on. Wider fairways, but certainly trouble looms with wayward shots. Awesome view as you look around.
Sexist comments made by staff and excessively rude. Will never return
Ranger staff was rude and caused a situation that has us thinking we may NEVER return to Hidden Greens in Solon Springs.
What started out as a borderline great day of golfing ended as the worst experience of rudeness I have ever experienced.
A friend and I took 4 teen boys golfing at Hidden Greens in Solon Springs, WI. They golfed ahead of us taking the first of the two tee times we scheduled.
The boys finished no more than 10 minutes ahead of us.
On their own they decided to golf another 9 holes and rented a cart as well. When we arrived at the clubhouse the clerk informed us the boys had rented a cart and we're golfing the back 9.
As we were finishing eating a late lunch my son comes walking in. Clearly upset and fighting back tears he told us the Hidden Greens Ranger stopped them on the 4th hole, accused them of lying about being at Hidden Greens with adults and then took their cart.
Our boys had taken the week of golf lessons over the summer and we have all played golf a number of times at Hidden Greens before today. During the lessons as well as other times while golfing the boys were allowed to have their own cart.
We found out there was a misunderstanding by the staff that gave the boys the cart rental. When requesting a cart the staff asked if they were with adults. They had answered that they were with two. They are boys. You ask them a question they will give you a literal answer. Yes. We were there at Hidden Greens with the boys. The staff who rented the cart to the boys assumed we moms were golfing the back nine with the boys when in fact we were finishing the first 9.
However, the fact the Ranger accused our boys of being liars and took actions to take the cart without looking for us, the adults that brought them, made us angry. He knew we were there golfing with the boys earlier but did NOT even attempt to look for us.
When the clubhouse staff called him over he was argumentative and refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing with the actions he took. He also made the comment "we all know you never want to make a woman angry". That comment made our blood boil.
He had upset the boys so much they quit golfing the back 9 and we're now in tears sitting in the clubhouse listening to his stubbirn rudeness.
The lovely female staff that waited on us for lunch refunded the cost of the cart. The actions of their Ranger has had an impact that may turn away four upcoming golfers from the sport.
These are students that are at the top of their class academically and were active in boy scouts and volunteer work. They are not boys that would drive recklessly across the course, be rude or damage anything.
At this point I am furious with how this was handled by their Ranger staff and may never return as a result. We have golfed many other courses in the area and find that Nemadji and Apostle Islands are nicer in service and the course.
BEYOND disappointed!!!!
Impact-
That impacts a loss of up to a few thousand dollars each summer season of business at Hidden Greens for the next few years.
The biggest impact to us is the emotional impact it took on our youth boys in addition to us as their mother's.
