A Great Experience
I was able to play the course early in the morning and had it to myself. The course has wonderful rolling terrain, several signature holes, true sunken green and great views around the clubhouse.
I know they say they don’t build them like this anymore but here it is the truth. Must play for the golf purist.

Golf, beauty, and just a bit of history
An old timey golf course in the best sense, It's in great shape. The layout is uncomplicated but the undulations of the fairways and green pretty much mean that no two shots are exactly alike. The bowl like 4th and the blind shot on nine with the bell to tell the group behind you that you're beyond range is fun. The course opened in 1909, and many of the artifacts of early Plum Lake decorate the clubhouse. A wonderful experience
Excellent Northwoods Course
There is no course in the Northwoods of Wisconsin that is in better condition that Plum Lake Golf Club. The greens are perfect, fairways tight, and the rough adds just enough challenge to put a premium on finding the fairway, without making it impossible to reach the green if your tee shot is not ideal.
Plum Lake is a must play!
I had a golf week with buddies last summer, and we came to play Plum Lake and it was the highlight off the week. Yes its only 9 holes, but the setting off the lake was awesome. Its a very plush course and not too hard. There are 2 very memorable holes: The Par 3 4th hole slopes in toward the green and acts like a giant funnel but of course the grass doesn't allow the ball to always roll onto the green. The 9th hole has a bell you must ring once you hit your 2nd shot b/c it's a blind tee shot to the fairway.
Overall, this is a great little course and be sure to have a beer on the porch overlooking the lake after the round! I can't wait to get back to Plum Lake this year!
Excellent vacation 9
Often 9 can be played in under 2 hours. New irrigation system in 2014 has the course looking better than ever. Greens are slower than most however they are lush and green. Staff is very friendly. Sit and have a drink on the porch post round and enjoy the beautiful view of plum lake.
