Why not a 5 star
Have to reserve 5 stars for many of the iconic PGA courses. We’ve been golfing the North Woods for many years and this course is a gem. Our favorite in the area. Also the best egg salad sandwich at the turn.
Slow and crowded
I'm not sure how tee times are scheduled but St. Germain sure tries to use every one of them. Play is too crowded and too slow. 5+ hour rounds are the norm during mid-day.
I play the course enough to know what I'm getting into but still it amazes me how crowded and slow this course gets.
Best golf in the Northwoods
This course if phenomenal! Beautiful scenery, with challenging layout of holes. I would play this course everyday if I lived here year round.
Best course in the area
I’ve played this maybe 6 times. Always good. Well maintained. Like the combo tee box selection. This can easily be walked. I’m 72 and a breeze. Staff very friendly.
Friendly staff, and challenging course
This course provides a tough challenge to golfers of any skill. They also provide 4 different teeing grounds. This course is very narrow, bendy, and difficult. The greens rolled somewhat true, and we’re not terribly difficult. I would definitely recommend this to anyone coming up north for vacation!
St Germain golf
Hadn't played this course in a few years. Fondly remember it and was looking forward to playing.
Not disappointed - great day, great course conditions, played in <4 hours.
Great public course in the northwoods
It was my first time playing there, we were paired with with two guys, one happened to play in a golf league there, which was helpful as he could offer guidance on where to hit the ball and club selection. It was a busy morning and the pace of play was great, it didn’t feel slow nor did we feel rushed. The course was in good shape, greens were challenging and consistent with the speed they played. Would definitely recommend playing there. You could make a case for bringing a leaf blower to play there in the fall as there are quite a few trees. 😉
Tough!
Perhaps the tightest course I have ever played!
Greens tough but fair. Great layout but not for beginners. five hour round sucks!
We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced with tee times and crowded play on our course. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your continued support and feedback.
