Situated just west of Rice Lake, Turtleback Golf, Dining, & Conference Center is just a short drive from the vacation destinations of Chetek, Cumberland, and Birchwood. Turtleback dates back to 1927 when it was originally opened as a nine-hole golf course. The back nine was added in the 1980s. The terrain is mostly flat but there are a few subtle contours that also work with the strategic placement of the bunkers to make the course fairly challenging. There are mature trees bordering most of the fairways and water hazards come into play on a few holes. Turtleback's layout offers a fair test, especially from the back tees that play to just over 6,600 yards, but it is player-friendly enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels.

We were paying customers, went on the course, then were harassed for wearing blue jeans. Don't take our money for greens fees if we are misfits to you. Do not recomend even though course was OK.
