RiverEdge Golf Course
About
River Edge Golf Course in Marshfield, Wis. is one of the most affordable rounds in the area. Opened in 1967, the course has a more traditional layout that is shorter than modern courses at 6,545 yards from the back tees. It's player friendly enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. Beginners can take on the golf course with confidence since it's not overly formidable, but it still provides some good practice. The terrain is mostly flat with a few subtle contours that can be tricky. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and there are also a few strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. Besides the wallet-friendly rates and the player-friendly design, the restaurant at River Edge G.C. is known for its popular Friday night fish fry.

LEAVE YOUR PUTTER AT HOME
The course should not be open as almost all greens had severe winter kill and are not conducive to putting (lumpy, bumpy, no true roll).....
Nice public course
It’s a nice course for the average golfer. There are some wide open holes but others with woods on both sides of fairways. Water also comes into play on a number of holes. It’s not a very scenic course but not an eyesore either. The course was in good condition especially considering how dry it has been. Have played it twice now this summer and wouldn’t hesitate to go again using a Hot Deal from GolfNow.
Nice Course
Good value for the money on golfnow. Senior tees are pretty short, so we play white even though we are seniors. Nice course to play
No beverage service or lunch available when we were there. Tee time was at 8:30. Would have stuck around for lunch but they didn't open until 2:00. Otherwise course was in good shape.
Nice course
Nice course, got lost getting there but employee was very cordial and understanding about us being ten minutes late. Thanks, we will be back!
Phenomenal greens
The course was a little wet but it was great play in The Greens were phenomenal
Scenic and Challenging; Have Clubs, Will Travel
This is a very pretty course, with plenty of challenges for all skill levels. Water hazards in the form of both ponds and the river came into play on several holes. The course has several holes carved through the woods, with only a few holes with houses and other structures within view. Some long Par 4's which require a long drive, but just as many short 4's which require strategically placed shots. The greens were well maintained. The only complaint were the Tee Boxes on some holes were a little sparse. The Staff was friendly, and the value for the money was outstanding. Overall 4.5 stars. Planning on driving the easy 60 minute trek to play here again.
Couldn't get going
It's a nice course but couldn't believe how many times I was unable to find my ball just off the fairway due to all the cut grass laying around. I guess you just need to hit it in the fairway every time like the pros, right? The worst thing for me was the pace of play which was terrible. When it is busy, they need someone to keep people moving!
great course-bad results
course was in good condition considering how much rain we have gotten in the area. We struggled but it was more the rust of not playing then the course.
Great day of golf!
From the start, a great day of golf. Friendly service, well maintained course, great pace, all contributed to a pleasurable day of golf.
The only thing missing was my putting game!
Poor Condition
Fairways had too much dead grass clippings, rough could of been mowed shorter than what it is.
Not worth the money unless paying a discounted rate
Hole 10's green was literally all sand and dead grass, the following holes tee box was all mud and beat up. Unless you golf this course at a discounted rate do not even bother.
Nice course
The staff was very friendly. The course was in good shape. It wasn't busy.
Re review
Nice layout. No issues with pace of play. The only issue I had was the greens were a little slow. Overall c+ to b--
Great round!
Played 18 for $10 w/cart, so we were pretty happy going in, but we were very surprised at the variety of holes and how pretty it is playing along the creek. Course was pretty good shape despite the weather there the day before. We will absolutely be coming back.
Execllent value but ...
I drove about 45 miles based on the 4.5 star rating which was posted. On a bang for the buck rating this is pretty good value but the conditions and overall layout don't justify 4.5 stars. I can play a course which is as good or better which is only 2 miles from my house.
There are some very nice holes especially across the river from the clubhouse but there are also a number which look basically like a tee and green stuck in the middle of a farm field.
Greens were in great shape but there were dead areas in many of the fairways, the sand bunkers were very wet (poor drainage) and had not been raked by the grounds crew for at least 4 days (I suspect longer) and a number of the tees were below average.
To sum it up, the course does offer a very good value but conditions and the layout are a mixed bag.
