Marshfield Country Club
About
Opened in 1923, Marshfield Country Club was one of the first golf courses in the area. There have been many changes over the years, including opening to the public in 1965 and the addition of another nine holes in 1974. At just over 6,000 yards, it's a short course by modern standards but it's no pushover. The greens are known for being challenging and they are also some of the truest and smoothest putting surfaces you'll find in the area. Though length may not be required, accuracy and course management are essential. The hazards at Marshfield C.C. are mostly provided by the existing landscape, including the meandering creeks, mature trees, and rocky outcroppings, which are complemented by several strategically placed bunkers. Each hole offers a different test, beginning with a tough par 4. This dogleg left hole has a stream that cuts right through the center.

very nice course:: would play it again:
worth the few miles to get to this course:: I would and will play it again::
Well played
Getting on the course was quick and easy. Rain has not been nice to this course but conditioning was good where it matters
Fair Round Of Golf
Nice new club house. No pro shop.
Nice carts with GPS but GPS don't work.
Course is very rough and needs mowing.
Greens were pretty good. Sand traps were
hard dirt.
On cart GPS is awesome
This is a fun course, not to difficult for average golfers. The new clubhouse and the GPS carts are just 2 of the improvements made recently. The staff are friendly and helpful.
It would be really sweet if the driving range were closer to the clubhouse and the course so you wouldn't have to drive your car from one to the other.
The food is also great.
Surprisingly challenging
Between the domed and sloping greens, and the high degree dog-legs and tree placements, this turned out to be a challenging course. While the fairways were bumpy and a bit dried out, the greens were in top shape. New clubhouse bar and grill, but the ProShop is under construction. Great regional option with good value.
Good day on the course
It was warm, but a nice breeze. Course was in good shape, greens were very fast. Don’t recommend The tap soda, expensive, might as well order a cocktail,
Great course
There are some rough spots around the course but, for early in the season, not bad. Bumpy if you're riding.
Wonderful layout! Nice folks, too. Made another tee time and recommend you do, too.
This course has great features
Love the new carts, GPS and USB charging outlet for your phone (wish there was better WIFI service however, love watching GameDay for the ball games while golfing
Marshfield C.C. has great potential.
My son and I golfed this course for the first time. We really liked the layout and challenging greens. The course needs some TLC and hopefully the new owners with a year or two to make improvements will provide a great little course for everyone to enjoy. We will certainly go back to play again.
Scenic & Challenging; Great Value
Interesting Parkland-Style Course. Opened in 1920's, lots of mature trees and excellent integration with natural terrain, river and ponds.
Pros: Greens were in good condition, speed consistent throughout the course. Unfortunately, it appeared lots of players don't know how to fix their Ball Marks. I don't blame the course for this, it's just lazy players not being considerate of other players. You don't have to be a long hitter on most holes, but accuracy and distance control on approach shots is a must. Some very pretty holes, and fit in nicely with surrounding terrain.
Cons: Some Tee Boxes were in need of repair and seeding. Playing for the first time, finding the next hole in some areas was a challenge, especially when criss-crossing the river on the back nine.
Overall: This course , while not fancy, is challenging and a fair test of skill. The new Clubhouse was nice, the burgers were tasty, beverages reasonable, and the Staff friendly, They had a GPS System on the cart, but I couldn't figure out how to turn it on. It would have come in handy for distances. It's worth asking about when you check in. Greens Fees were very reasonable. 4-Stars, at least.
Much improved golf course
Very nice new clubhouse and a beautiful course layout. Good steady improvements being made to course to "manicure" the fairways and edges.
Nice course
We like this course it has water long and short holes. Nice new club house
Great day of golf
I'm no golf expert and have only been golfing consistently for one year now so keep that in mind with my review. I found the greens to be very well maintained but extremely fast! This is a course I want to play to improve my putting and game strategy. Several holes punished me for placing my ball above the hole. I don't get out on courses far away from this area so have little experience to compare conditions to, but I can tell you that for this time of year, the course was still being maintained in earnest. Caretakers were blowing leaves off of greens and mowing/chopping them up on the edges of fairways. The result was easily noted. A pleasant round of golf with only an occasional search for a ball due to leaf camouflage. This course is still playing well for this time of year and management sends their best regards to linxters with the TLC they are still employing to it. Any problems I had on the course were truly related to "operator error" & not the course.
