Horicon Hills Golf Club
About
Horicon Hills Golf Club (formerly known as Rock River Hills Golf Club) is situated along the banks of its namesake river, incorporating water into 13 holes. The course is target golf at its finest, weaving through a gently rolling landscape studded with mature trees that provides a home for the abundant wildlife. Accuracy will be generously rewarded but the layout is not overly punishing if you are slightly errant. In addition to encountering plenty of water, there are also several strategically placed bunkers to contend with. The golf course is mostly flat although there are a few subtle, but tricky contours. Perhaps it’s the secluded location that has helped Horicon Hills Golf Club to remain one of southern Wisconsin's best-kept secrets or maybe it's a more concerted effort by local fans to keep it that way.

Hot deal deception
Only hot deal ever booked that didn't include not state cart fee $18 extra per person. Scammed#@!#!'
Nice course but too much for cart rental
Enjoyed the round. Course is in good shape. Ineresting layout. Great views of the Rock River. But $18 apiece for cart rental is not something I am not interested in doing again.
Gem
this is now one of my favorite courses, due to the interesting layout and challenges for any golfer, regardless of skill level. greens are fast and super smooth. I recorded my first hole in one here May 24th, 2020.
Layout offers variety
The course was in good shape. While some tee boxes was browned from heat the greens were very well maintained. The layout offers A variety of challenges and long is often not ideal.
Course was in excellent shape from all the rain. Saw deer on 2 different holes. Don’t plan on getting a deal. What you saved on the app you have to pay the difference for the cart. No advantage to book with the app, you pay normal price.
Well Worth the Day Trip
We picked this as the travel course of the week after reading what Gary D'Amato (MJS) had to say about it. Now we agree - This is a hidden Gem.
The course is being taken care of very well. Can't tell you the number of times we saw the superintendent go by with his golden lab riding shotgun. Always on the way to the next fix up duty.
Course really has a nice variety of holes, in shape and elevation changes. Fairways were in fine condition, tee boxes real good (or being worked on) and the greens were fast and challenging. Views of the Rock River were really nice on many holes in the middle of the round. As for drinking water though - get it at the clubhouse, none on course.
It was our first time playing this course but it will not be our last.
Good value with GolfNow.com
Golf was a good value, but food and beer were higher than what I would like.
nice course
Had a lot of fun here, not a fan of crossing highway though. Good fun overall and in good condition.
Simply Amazing
Truly a hidden gem. First time playing here. The course was in amazing condition. Well done guys. I will definitely be back!
Great views, great play
Wonderful course along the Rock River with hills, marsh and enough trees to make this a challenge but yet never beat you up so bad to make it seem like you can't score on it.
Very good people working there make it a joy to check in and get something to eat or drink.
greens in great condition
A great place to play. Some lower spots a little rough due to all the rain this year. The greens are in excellent condition.
Like this place...BUT
I've played here multiple times this year... The back nice should NOT be open right now... Just water soaked...some standing water. They're letting the course get tore-up by less considerate players who take their cart anywhere.
That being said, I really like the course. When it's not soaked it water it's a very nice course. Not overly challenging but definitely not easy.
Lots of tough holes and scenic views, worth the $$
Love the Horicon marsh area and this course lies nicely positioned to get you close to Mother nature while offering you challenging golf. Great service and conditions and thanks to Golf Now a super low price. Beautiful way to spend 4 and 1/2 hrs with family and friends.
Like to golf here
The course was good except for the aerated greens.Fairways were in good shape.
Nicely laid out. Pin placement had some good challenges. Course was dry.
Had a great day on course, but they will need to get an adequate irrigation system installed to make it a pristine course!
Has some good Challenging holes
Over all the course was in good shape. The lack of rain in the area lately made for some hard ground and tough lies at times but all in all for the great deal I got on golf now it was well worth the money.
Great Golf Course in beautiful settings.
Drove 45 minutes from Sun Prairie area to play the course for such a great price off of GolfNow ($31.65 for two w/cart). There are many other courses closer to my home w/ similar pricing on GolfNow, but they cannot compare, even with the drive. RRH is located along the Horicon Marsh and many holes are located in pristine areas along the marsh. The views are terrific and one will find many sightings of our feathered friends commonly found in the Marsh. Course is well maintained w/ fairways, tees and greens well maintained. The challenges vary from flat fairways, rolling hills and raised fairways to flat and elevated greens as well as a 165 yd par 3 that sharply drops fifty feet below the tee. Short roughs were dry and hard but balls easy to locate. If you like surroundings with water, not necessarily hazards, this is a good place.
