South/North at Evergreen Golf Club
About
Evergreen Golf Club in Elkhorn is one of the area's premier golfing destinations with 27 holes of championship golf that provide three challenging, but playable 18-hole combinations. The nines, East, South, and, North are routed through mature trees and natural wetlands. The South/North combinations begins with the club's original nine. Water comes into play on some of the course's toughest holes and there are also numerous bunkers strategically placed around the greens. The penultimate hole of the golf course is one of the most memorable. North's challenging eighth offers an interesting risk-reward opportunity. Big hitters will reap the benefits if they successfully drive the green, but an errant shot will be met with out-of-bounds to the left and bunkers to the right, turning an easy par 4 into a bogey.

Good time in Lake Geneva get away
Had a great time w my stepson we were very impressed w the course the layout highly recommend
Great conditioned greens, like perfect carpets with lots of curves
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Pace of play was perfect. Fairways were green and spongy despite the drought and greens were like a pool table.. views are spectacular. Could play the course from the different tees for a new experience every day for a week! We will recommend this course and be back! George and Gail are the best!
Nice little track
Fun course. Pretty short, but not super easy. There's quite a few holes that require a little creativity. A bunch of dog legs and shots do need to be shaped to really take advantage of the course. Greens were in good shape. Fairways were awesome. I'd say there's a premium to be in the fairway, but my buddy kicked my tail just trying to cut every corner and hitting out of the trees and rough. It's fun. You will not get away with sneaking beer on this course, and domestics are $4.
Please update course description. I went to have a practice round with a beginner and there is no driving range as advertised on the golf now site.
Course was in good condition, but slow play, with many twosomes on the course in the afternoon. Friendly staff and the beverage cart was always available. The pub was closed for an event so we did not get a chance to have a pregame meal.
Great course for scrambles
I used to play this course a lot more often when they offered more specials. I still play there once or twice a year in the 27 hole scramble. They really know how to organize a scramble there. I'm always impressed by how well the scrambles are run and the dinner offered afterward.
The staff is friendly and informative whether for scrambles or on a lazy weekday twilight round.
Beware of holiday weekends, however, as the locals tend to treat the cartpaths like their own neighborhood sidewalks.
Beautiful Wisconsin fall day
The course was in excellent condition. Pace of play was 2 hours per nine. Not good, not bad, we were stacked up. Greens were rolling true and smooth. Not a very long course. The need of a driver off tee is minimal. I only drove it 4 times on 18 holes. The other par 4 holes were all driving iron 220 yard shot getting into a pretty position on most every hole.
I golfed the East and the North courses. It would have been nice to have drinks sold on the course. I didn’t see a single soul selling anything. Unfortunate. Money was to be made. Missed out.
Overall, this course is 30 mins from my house. I booked a hot deal on GolfNow and tried it out. I was not disappointed.
Rude staff, opened too early in season
This place opened before any other public course in Southern Wisconsin to cash in on the early season rush before competitors open. I hope it was worth it, because the course wasn’t playable yet and seemed to be getting pretty beat up by all the traffic on a primarily muddy course. I booked a solo tee time and was told in the clubhouse id be playing with a group of three who she pointed outside towards standing next to the starter. By the time I got out to the starter, the threesome was gone. After an initial incoherent set of instructions, the starter walked away and talked to another group set to tee off after before coming back after a few minutes and telling me the group I was supposed to play with “jumped on the course without checking in.” While I was aware that he was covering up his mistake, I wanted to play golf and kindly said “just get me out there whenever you can, I’d rather play with a group than go out by myself if it’s slow out there.” He responded again with something incoherent and when I asked for clarification, he said “jump behind this foursome, yeah that’s what we’re gonna do.” About an hour and a half later I was on hole 7 getting my ball when a ranger appears and yells “you! Did you get the memo?!” Again I asked for clarification and was met quickly with “we told you carts on the path today” (they hadn’t, and there were no signs. In fact, several tee boxes were missing signs today). Did I mention this place had the nerve to charge $30 for a 9-hole golfnow “deal” on March 5 in elkhorn, Wisconsin. Usually I would say something like “don’t go here” or “avoid at all costs” on a bad review, but don’t think I explicitly need to here.
