Door County Golf
Golf course needs work. The white tee boxes are ok but the red and gold are just tee markers randomly placed in the grass. Sand traps are not good. Grass , weeds and dandelions all around most traps aren’t very appealing to the eye. It could be much better with some TLC.
Wild, Built-up, Undulating Greens
Always been a fan of Joe Roseman and George O’Neil golf courses. These Golden Age architects designed solid golf courses with terrific greens. MB is no exception. I loved the numerous fairway bunkers that remained. One has to
Conquer this course through the air to get around the many bunkers.
Great valve!
Course is in great shape. It’s been 20 yrs since I played here last. I definitely Will return. Great valve for the money.
Nice Round
The course is in good shape thanks to recent rain that we’ve had. It was busy and there were several groups of “vacationing “ golfers but the pace was decent.
They did a real good job of virus prevention.
Great conditions as always
Don’t need your snorkel, there’s no water hazards here. But today I landed in a bunker on seven holes on the front! But that’s not the course’s fault, haha! Easy course to play, always relaxing. Carts are new this year which is a treat. Lots of birdie opportunities for a 10 handicapper.
Nice golf course
Was up in Door County on vacation and stop by to play 18. Small :"club" house" but friendly staff. Fairways aren't the best but roughs weren't that bad. Greens were pretty challenging and in decent condition. Sand traps are pretty flat and easy to get out of. Overall it's a nice golf course.
Tougher than it looks
Maxwelton Braes is a pretty flat course that looks benign from the road, but plays harder than that. There are many doglegs that will challenge your fairway positioning, and most of the greens have a few undulations to eliminate straight putts. The greens are in excellent shape, and the fairways are surprisingly good given the dry summer. Overall a good value.
Nice round
The course was in good shape. The rough was relatively short which made finding balls and hitting out of it less difficult. Greens were in good shape, albeit a bit slow. The course is very “playable”. It seemed like the majority of golfers on the course were walking with pull carts. Carts are available and cart paths were only present around the greens and tee boxes.
Good Course
I had a nice round despite the cold, about 50 degrees.
Throwback Course
This course reminds me of old courses I have played many years ago in Upper Michigan, plenty of character!!!
Thanks Maxwellton Braes, I'll be back again with friends!!!
